Large space companies are set to colonize Mars. It seems that all earthlings should have a positive attitude to this idea. However, every year more and more skeptics and opponents appear. Let's listen to the arguments.
Heading to Mars!

Moreover, by developing the infrastructure of cheap space launches, the SpaceX company is trying to turn earthlings into an interplanetary view. Just imagine that one day your descendants will be able to go to Pluto for the weekend, spend the winter on one of the satellites of Jupiter, and will send the children to the grandmother on Venus for the holidays.
Sounds interesting and intriguing. Ilon Mask himself, of course, does not pursue an entertaining goal, but rather takes care that the representatives of our planet do not become corny. An asteroid or a comet strayed is enough to cause a catastrophe. And if nothing is done, our sun will expand our history. Then why are people dissatisfied with the ideas of colonization, and what arguments present?
Let's listen to the second side
On the opposite side of the scale are those who do not want to hear anything about the development of foreign worlds. And among them are many scientists, politicians and ordinary people. Their arguments are:
- Colossal financial costs. Billions of dollars are spent on launching rockets, building spaceships, developing missions and retaining a huge staff. This is especially worrisome for Americans, who provide part of the efficiency of space missions at the expense of high taxes.
- Policy. Now space is considered to be essentially a draw or common to all living beings. However, in a short period of time, humans have managed to redistribute the entire planet. What prevents them from repeating it in space? Already, there are laws on space that prohibit the assignment of space objects. However, other planets and asteroids are sources of valuable resources. Of course, there will be those who want to assign everything to themselves.
- Wars. The above item is bound to lead to a large-scale war for resources in the form of rocket fuel, jewels and rare elements that cannot be found on Earth.
- Aliens. Some are concerned about meeting with aggressive alien invaders. We are sending signals to space, trying to attract attention and do not know how these attempts will end.
Postscript
It turns out that most of all opponents of the colonization theory are afraid that the invader's human mentality will spread into outer space. And why are companies willing to spend huge sums of money on the terraforming of other worlds and the creation of colonies, but are not ready to give even a part of the funds to improve life on Earth? What about hunger, mass illiteracy, disease, and the fact that many countries lack clean water?
