On Tuesday, October 7th, NASA astronaut Reid Weisman and European Space Agency astronaut Alexander Gerst decided to go beyond the limits of the International Space Station to do some of the cleaning work left after the December emergency spacewalk and begin an electrical wiring project. The duo, both newcomers in outer space, completed all their tasks in 6 hours and 13 minutes.

During their additional transportation events (EVA), both astronauts captured some amazing episodes of their adventures on the outer surface of the space station. Some of them are presented here, including this picture "outside the world", a self-portrait of German Gerst. All in one day's work for the space station crew!

When operating on the outer surface of a space station, safety is paramount. Like the climbers, the astronauts were fastened with fasteners to the station at all times, and in this frame Vaisman stretches the rope hook to Gerst.

The Vaisman space station, surrounded by a mass of equipment, can hardly be distinguished in the workplace under the blindingly bright light of the Sun.

To distinguish between Weisman and Gerst, the Waisman space suit has red stripes, while the Gerst space suit does not.

Gerst photographs the sun-flooded view of his spacesuit with a closed reflective visor for going into outer space.

Looking down at Earth, Gerst captured this amazing image in the picture - Weismann, who works on the cooling system of the space station.

Gerst boasts a custom-made drill that helped astronauts tighten and loosen bolts in the vacuum environment of space.

Being indifferent to such a height, Gerst photographs the legs, which were attached to the Canadarm-2 robotic space station during the modernization on the outer surface of the station. Powerful panoramic camera lens covers the station's huge solar panels in the frame.

The astronauts of the space station observe 15 sunrises and sunsets every day, so they had to work through “day” and “night” several times during their 6 hour and 13 minute spacewalk. When they passed in the shadow of the Earth, the lights of Gerst's spacesuit were turned on to help him continue working at night.

"I can confidently say that it was the most amazing thing that happened in my life, # astronaut EVA27 #," Gerst said in connection with this photo, when he was tied to the Canadarm-2 robotic space station while driving on a broken cooling system.
