For the first time in more than a decade, the five planets will be in the spotlight in the morning sky this week.
Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn will be visible in the wee hours starting January 20 and ending in February.

Five planets will coordinate in an arc, starting with Jupiter high in the sky, and then Mars, Saturn, Venus and Mercury, which is slightly visible above the horizon.
For those without a telescope, a dazzling celestial spectacle will be visible to the naked eye - although binoculars may be useful.
The last time such an event was in January 2005.
