SpaceX sends a supercomputer

SpaceX plans to send an unmanned cargo ship to the ISS on Monday. On board is a supercomputer that can become a new stage in the development of interstellar travel.

The launch will happen from Cape Canaveral (Florida) and the weather forecast is 70% favorable for starting.

This is the 12th mission for a contract with NASA for 1.6 billion dollars. In total, the company must provide 20 deliveries. If the launch is delayed, you will have to wait until next week.

On the Dragon placed 6400 kg of payload, as well as a supercomputer company Hewlett Packard Enterprise. It should stay on the ISS for a year and confirm its functionality in unusual conditions. If the astronauts get to Mars, the communication delay will be 24 minutes one way. This will lead to complications when testing, experimenting or in emergency situations. The new mechanism should eliminate this delay and ensure a long uninterrupted work time.

One tool is to help study Parkinson's disease. Without gravity, protein crystals can grow in space and help to better analyze the causes.
