The new crew starts to the ISS

On June 6, a rocket with three astronauts on the ISS was launched from the Baikonur cosmodrome (Kazakhstan). Their mission should last 5 months.

On board, there are Alexander Gerst (ESA), Serena Anunon (NASA) and Sergey Prokopiev (Roscosmos). The connection with the station is scheduled on Friday.

We can assume that this is the most "inexperienced" team, because the entire top three have only one mission. This honor went to Gerst, who in 2014 visited the ISS. The flight commander appointed 43-year-old Prokopyev, although he had not flown into space before. The candidacy of 42-year-old Aunon, passed all tests for astronauts and working as a medical practitioner, was confirmed at the beginning of the year.

The space laboratory has been operating since 1998, orbiting our planet at a speed of 28,000 km / h.
