New evidence for the existence of the Ninth Planet

Recently, an international team of researchers found evidence of the existence of the Ninth Planet. They describe the behavior of the detected remote object, which suggests the presence of a large planet.

Two years ago, astronomers from the Caltech offered the possible existence of a large planet orbiting the sun. This would make it the ninth known planet in our system. The predictions were based on observation of ice bodies located on the edge of the system. It was evident that their orbits are distorted by the gravitational mass.

New evidence for the existence of the Ninth Planet

A visual representation of the 2015 BP519 orbit created with other ETNOs for comparison. For each orbit, the darker areas on the curve indicate where the object falls below the region of the solar system's plane. And so the assumption of a distant planet, which is 4 times the size of Earth 10 times massive, arose. If it is real, then one flight around the sun should spend 10,000-20,000 years. She would also be able to explain why objects in the Kuiper belt orbit rotate in the opposite direction.

The new paper suggested that the behavior of one of the trans-Neptunian objects could be related to the gravity of the Ninth Planet. The 2015 BP519 was first noticed 3 years ago, but only recently its strange shape of the orbit became clear. It is almost perpendicular to the plane for other planets. Therefore, scientists have made a simulation that could predict the orbital angle of an object when adding the Ninth Planet. It turned out that the result coincided with real observations.
