In 2017, the Moon became a remarkable object to learn from NASA. This is due to the event of a solar eclipse, which covered a huge part of the United States, as well as the revival of satellite exploration projects. But the moon almost always remained in the spotlight.

This is a false color image created from 15 shots that have passed through 3 color filters. The survey was conducted by the Galileo apparatus, when it flew through the Earth-Moon system on December 8, 1992. In this view, the ship was moving away at 425,000 km from the planet.

Such treatment helps to more accurately determine the composition of the surface soil. Red areas usually correspond to highlands, and blue and orange - ancient volcanic lava streams.
