A close look at the Saturn Atlas satellite

These photos were taken by Cassini on April 12, 2017 at a distance of 11,000 km. They are notable for the fact that never before has any apparatus come so close to a satellite. Photos allow us to characterize the geology and form. Atlas is 30 km in diameter and revolves around Saturn behind Ring A (the brightest main ring of the planet).
