The start of the InSight mission is scheduled for May 5

NASA set the following goal in Martian research - the study of internal objects using seismic research mission InSight. Start is scheduled for May 5th.

All activities related to the preparation and the launch itself are scheduled for May 3. The broadcast will be available on the NASA website.

InSight is the first mission, starting from the West Coast from Space Complex 3 at the Vandenberg Air Force Base (California). To launch use Atlas-5 rocket.

The NASA Mars Cube One (MarCO) experiment will also be present on the same rocket. It is presented by two space mini-devices. Will be the first test of CubeSat technology in deep space. They must demonstrate new communication and navigation capabilities for future missions and will help with InSight communications.
