Paleocontact: did extraterrestrial intelligence influence the development of human civilization

In the modern world there are still people who believe that they were abducted by aliens, made experiments, and a chip or a radio beacon is hidden under the skin. These characters are very skeptical. However, there is a hypothesis of paleocontact, which was supported by many famous scientists and scientific popularizers.

Paleocosmonautics

These newcomers are also called the ancient (or even the first) astronauts. The paleocontact hypothesis states that, in the distant past, intelligent alien creatures often visited the human race.

Some believe that there was an exchange of information and experience between earthlings and aliens. Others believe that all known advanced knowledge came with UFOs. But there are those who say that modern people are the product of the contact of the first people and space guests (yes, physical proximity and all that).

As evidence, they point to numerous rock paintings depicting strange creatures with an unusual shape, a multitude of limbs, rays of light above their heads, etc. There are also strange images of mechanisms and devices that appeared only in modern society.

Founders and supporters of the idea

If we talk about the forerunner of paleokontakt, then it is worth remembering Charles Fort, who is already known to us (“How did UFO hunters appear?”). In 1919, he published The Book of the Damned. It was a whole collection of various oddities and facts that were ignored and could not be explained by science. If we talk about a more modern understanding of paleokosmonavtiki, then at the starting point of its development should mention the Soviet inventor and self-taught scientist Konstantin Tsiolkovsky. Already in 1928, he lectured and promoted the idea that in the past newcomers visited our planet with definite goals, who left traces in culture, art and science.

Among the followers and adherents of paleokontakt, we can recall Alexander Kazantsev, Immanuel Velikovsky, Erich von Daniken, Harariy Sitchin, etc. But why should a higher alien mind make a visit to undeveloped little humans, and also share technologies with them?

Possible reasons for the visit

- Tests and experiments

Yeah ... In fact, people sin with this in relation to our smaller brothers. Cosmetology uses animals to test their products, scientists continue to shock the rats, watching their actions. The researchers also use the people themselves in experiments to test their reactions. What then prevented the aliens from doing the same with our distant ancestors? Of course, their motives remain a mystery, but this idea has a right to exist.

- Short stop

Perhaps the conditions of our world approached space travelers, who stopped to rest before continuing their flight to a more distant target. During this stop they got acquainted with simple earthlings and could teach us something for fun. Or they tried not to contact us, and people unknowingly took them for gods, began to worship and adopted wisdom. - Resource Search

In the depths of our planet hides a huge amount of minerals that could attract the alien invaders. After all, we have long considered asteroids, planets and exoplanets as valuable sources of resources that we can use to our advantage. The aliens could spend reconnaissance here and for some time extract valuable materials. Perhaps they even used people as labor force.

Postscript

Ideas paleokontakt often used by science fiction. It is difficult to prove the reality of these assumptions, because we do not have physical evidence (alien ship or the body of an alien). Therefore, it is necessary to look puzzled at ancient monuments, unusual cave paintings and technically accurate structures that appeared in some strange way in the distant past with basic tools and knowledge. What do you think?
