These newcomers are also called the ancient (or even the first) astronauts. The paleocontact hypothesis states that, in the distant past, intelligent alien creatures often visited the human race.

If we talk about the forerunner of paleokontakt, then it is worth remembering Charles Fort, who is already known to us (“How did UFO hunters appear?”). In 1919, he published The Book of the Damned. It was a whole collection of various oddities and facts that were ignored and could not be explained by science. If we talk about a more modern understanding of paleokosmonavtiki, then at the starting point of its development should mention the Soviet inventor and self-taught scientist Konstantin Tsiolkovsky. Already in 1928, he lectured and promoted the idea that in the past newcomers visited our planet with definite goals, who left traces in culture, art and science.
Among the followers and adherents of paleokontakt, we can recall Alexander Kazantsev, Immanuel Velikovsky, Erich von Daniken, Harariy Sitchin, etc. But why should a higher alien mind make a visit to undeveloped little humans, and also share technologies with them?
