Curiosity made a new “selfie” on Mars

On this exciting new “selfie”, the Curiosity rover is standing on the rocky foot of Mount Sharp, located in an area called “Pahrump Hills”. A self-portrait, compiled from several dozen high-resolution photos, was made using the editing arm of the MAHLI robot.

In the photo below, which was taken in the period from January 14 to January 29, some of the most interesting parts of the route of the rover are marked. For example, in the Mojave area, Curiosity last used its drill to collect rock samples. These samples were loaded into the onboard chemical laboratory of the rover.
