Testing Equipment Certification

Testing Equipment Certification

Testing equipment (EUT) refers to devices designed to reproduce working conditions.

There are the following types of test equipment:

  • installations (checking the characteristics under the influence of moisture, heat, cold, radiation);
  • stands (reproduce tests for shock, shaking, vibration);
  • machines (test the object by means of compression, torsion, stretching);
  • strength testing equipment;
  • devices for testing insulation, protection against water and other influences.

By using test equipment, single factors or combinations of these can be tested.

Test devices can additionally be classified based on the following parameters:

  • reproducible exposure;
  • type of functional test.

External influence factors are determined by 7 classes of impact:

  • mechanical;
  • natural;
  • biological;
  • radiation;
  • electromagnetic;
  • from a specialized environment;
  • thermal.

Each of the classes of external influence can be divided into groups and their types. For example, the natural (climatic) influence can be divided into the following groups:

  • atmospheric pressure;
  • ambient temperature;
  • air humidity;
  • atmospheric cages and other groups.

Each group is divided into types that determine the change, increase or decrease of some of the indicators - pressure, temperature and others.

Technical parameters of the EUT

Data groups that indicate the functional and technical capabilities and non-standard capabilities of the item are the technical parameters of the test equipment. Data is divided by reproducible factors or characteristics - accuracy, conditions of installation and use, impact on nature, power consumption and characteristics of normal operation:

  1. The accuracy parameters determine the accuracy in reproduction and compliance with the test process, the inaccuracy of the built-in measuring tools in the device.
  2. Required conditions are requirements for the foundation and rooms for equipment installation. These characteristics include the size and weight of the device, its dimensions and the free space around the equipment, which is necessary for uninterrupted access to its elements and the control part.
  3. The magnetic and electromagnetic fields, the level of vibration, the amount of heat produced and other environmental impacts resulting from the operation of an object can affect nature and test objects.
  4. Energy consumption includes pressure or flow rate of liquid, air, gas, and other consumed products.
  5. Normal functioning consists in observing the order of launching an object, insulation resistance of the circuits in the device, etc.

The list of technical characteristics of the test device is specified in the operational documents and instrument passport. Certification is subject to equipment with rated metrological characteristics.

The main purpose of certification is to establish the normalized parameters of the equipment, compliance with the documentation and determine the level of suitability of the device to function.

When verifying, the EUT conducts primary, periodic and, if necessary, repeated certification.

Primary certification is performed during the production of testing devices and after their repair. The purpose of the primary certification is to determine the accuracy parameters of the EUT. Periodic certification of IO is performed after a certain time of their functioning and storage. This type of certification is aimed at checking the possibility of using a test device for a specific type of product.

The reason for the re-certification of the Oncological Institute may be putting it into operation, transportation, long-term storage, upgrading, changing the location of the equipment, as a result of which the accuracy parameters may deteriorate.

Only representatives of the metrological public service and qualified organizations, such as www.test-expert.ru, can perform the verification of equipment used in legal metrology.

Programs and methods of testing equipment certification regulate the procedure for performing tests. These documents are compulsory. The development of testing methods and certification programs is carried out by manufacturers or developers of the EUT, as well as specialized organizations involved in testing with the participation of their own metrological services.

The stage of direct certification is accompanied by the following actions: visual inspection of testing devices, testing and testing directly.

The results of certification are entered in the certificate of performance certification.
