Particle accelerator from Ilona Mask will cost much less

If you are planning to build the largest particle accelerator in the world, you will need a long tunnel. In fact, it should cover a length of 100 km. Then why not turn to Ilona Mask? The founder of SpaceX not only launches and creates electric cars, but also heads the company The Boring Company, which created the tunnel in Los Angeles.

Ilon Mask wrote that he got acquainted with the idea of creating a new particle accelerator and hinted that he had already managed to talk with CERN Director General Fabiola Janotti. Now the Large Hadron Collider is closed for 2 years for updates. But researchers are waiting for new conceptual developments, including a larger version. However, the new collider will cost $ 5.7 billion, and this is only the tunnel itself. It would be nice if Musk can save a couple of billions. Moreover, at CERN they do not officially refuse to cooperate with Ilon Mask and are open to various economically efficient technologies.

Mask presented the first tunnel from The Boring Company on December 18. This is a concept check, as the finished tunnel will be able to transport cars at a speed of 240 km / h, eliminating the usual traffic jams for Los Angeles. Mask openly declares that his help will be cheaper, but so far he has not disclosed any construction plan.
