The case of 1965, which occurred in Oklahoma, still has no clear explanation. But for ufologists and experts, it is interesting because of the preserved photographic evidence.
The event took place on August 3, 1965 in Tulsa (Oklahoma). At 1:30 pm, Alan Smith was sitting in the courtyard with his 14-year-old son and three other witnesses. Suddenly a strange object appeared in the sky. It seemed that the UFO is slowly moving in the direction of the five witnesses. At a distance of several meters the object stopped and hung.
At this point, Smith (a specialist in turbine engines at American Airlines) ran into the house and found his inexpensive camera and ASA 64 film. He managed to take one color photograph before the object flew away.
Witnesses said that the UFO was constantly changing colors from white to red and then to blue-green. Ufologists immediately congratulated themselves on the discovery of new evidence of the existence of aliens. But the skeptics were trying to find another explanation, like meteo-probes. When the arguments ended, they simply accused Smith of falsification. However, the photograph was analyzed in the USAF and the Blue Book project. Experts had to admit that the picture is authentic and displays the object at a height of 1.6 km above the ground. In 1977, a repeated computer analysis was carried out and again they confirmed the reliability of the frame and the presence of an unusual large-sized flying vehicle.
This photo was published first in Life magazine, and then in other American print media. But what is shown in the picture? The mystery remains undisclosed.
