In modern society, there are many people who are sure that they have seen a UFO, have been abducted by aliens, or communicate with aliens telepathically. Usually the stories of these individuals are ignored. But what about serious scientists, like Tesla and Marconi, who managed to get signals that were unusual at that time?

The first observer was an eccentric scientist and inventor Nikola Tesla. In 1899, he was engaged in experiments with high voltage, trying to explore the means of transmitting energy by radio. This would eliminate the need for wired systems.

One hot summer, Tesla released artificial flashes of light into the sky from a 60-meter tower at a base in Colorado Springs. Having achieved work without wiring from lanterns and other electrical equipment, Tesla noticed that his radio equipment was recording strange signals. He was well aware of natural phenomena, such as solar disturbances and the northern lights, so he quickly rejected these options. Tesla began to suspect that signals are coming from other planets:

I have observed unexplained electrical effects. It seems to me that earthlings can now say that we are not alone. Most likely, some planets are inhabited, and life is observed at different stages of development. The resulting electrical perturbations could not arise from the Sun, the Moon or Venus. I am convinced that the signals come from Mars ”.

Although Tesla is considered a brilliant scientist, he was skeptical at the time. He was also embarrassed by his addiction to telepathy and spiritualism. Therefore, his arguments were ignored and blamed on an attempt to attract attention.

Tesla could have been known as a madman, if later another genius, Guglielmo Marconi, had not encountered the same wonder. While Tesla was talking about other worlds, Marconi developed radio as a means of communication. In the summer of 1899, he stubbornly sent the letter V using Morse code to his colleagues at a distance of 80 km.

In 1921, Marconi announced that he had managed to receive strange signals resembling an unusual cipher. There was also a strange feature. Morse signs for the letter V, which he sent in 1899, were repeated inside the cipher. Marconi believed that the signals came from Mars as a response to his early attempts to reach his colleagues by radio.

Many ufologies believe that both scientists could establish contact with other extraterrestrial civilizations. After all, there are still enthusiasts for hunting UFOs that “listen” to the sky, and in a serious organization, SETI send various radio signals to outer space in the hope of hearing the answer.

However, experts believe that the researchers simply made a mistake. It was an early period of radio development. Especially since this device was used in experiments of both. Later, Tesla admits that his strange signals could be energy from the earth's magnetic field. But this idea still seemed unusual to him. Marconi could not explain what kind of code he received and from whom he arrived. What do you think?
