Stunning view from space station

On Tuesday, two rookie astronauts spent 6 hours outside the International Space Station. The cosmonauts put things in order after the repairs made in December, and also strengthened the electrical wiring.

NASA astronaut Reed Weisman and astronaut from the European Space Agency Alexander Gerst loaded the old cooling system pump into a tank located on a platform docked with the station. The damaged pump was replaced by a spare in December, but it can still be repaired.

Picture taken by Gerst, who captured his colleague at work.

The astronauts also connected a power cable to the module to supply energy from a backup source. The six-hour spacewalk was the first experience for both astronauts.
