Tabby's Star Dims Again

A team of astrophysicists studying KIC 8462852 (Tabbi's star) recorded a sharp decrease in brightness again. For the first time, the strange behavior of the object was noticed in 2015.

The star Tabbi has been watched for many years, because it is endowed with a hazy space and is interesting because it can have planets that pass by it and overlap the rays. However, KIC 8462852 is different because it darkens much more than other stars. At certain times it reaches 20% tarnish. This is too much for a light-blocking planet. In addition, the star could remain dull for much longer than usual. Therefore, many people wonder what can be the cause.

There are many theories, among which there are even aliens with the Dyson sphere. But the most likely explanation is dust. In early 2018, researchers noticed that the stellar light penetrating to us has different wavelengths at different times. It is believed that the dust could appear due to the collision of the planets and other celestial bodies.

A recent decrease in brightness is considered the highest since 2013. It began on March 16th and ended on the 22nd.
