Outcast: Detection of the Death Star's Greatest Disadvantage

This is probably one of the most captivating innumerable stories from the Star Wars universe. This is a plot involving the capture of plans by the Rebel Alliance for an evil imperial super weapon, namely the Death Star. And as it turned out from the trailer for the spin-off movie “Outcast” on Thursday, we finally get a bold story behind the scenes of a bold mission.

The trailer has it all: a strong female role (Felicity Jones), energetic dialogue, atmospheric sets and costumes with powerful detectors of the “New Hope” echo and the promise that we will finally get detailed information about how the Death Star plans in the line the enemy, allow Luke Skywalker to launch a torpedo from the X-Wing ship into battle against the station's exhaust ports.

Outcast: Detection of the Death Star's Greatest Disadvantage

As for me, I am pleased with the appearance of “Outcast” almost more than I was happy for “The Force Awakens”, which was released in December. Even though I enjoyed the “Awakening of Power”, I still felt that I had lived to the time of the deceiving. After all, too much emphasis was placed on computer graphics and there was no original narration, instead of depending on the tried and tested ways (super-duper is a huge planet of the Death Star? Seriously?). However, a new generation of characters, led by Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Finn (John Boyeg), had a strong impact on the franchise, the prosperity of which will be interesting to watch in subsequent films. And of course, it was a huge thrill to see Solo, Leia and (albeit briefly) Luke 30 years after the destruction of the second imperial Death Star in “Return of the Jedi”. But Outlaw, the first of the Star Wars: An Anthology series, appears to offer an autonomous story (directed by Gareth Edwards), revealing Jean Ersay in her epic adventure, in which she heads a group of rebel losers in a mission to capture the first The Death Star of the Galactic Empire.

Watch the incredible trailer:

In the opening episode for “New Hope”, which was released in 1977, we received a primer for the premise of “Outcast”.

“This is a period of civil war. Rebel spacecraft striking from a hidden base won their first battle against the evil Galactic Empire. ”

“During the battle, the rebel spies managed to steal the secret plans of the Empire’s absolute weapons (Death Star), an armored space station with enough force to destroy an entire planet.”

“Pursued by the sinister agents of the Empire, Princess Leia, is sent home aboard her space ship, having stolen plans with her that can save her people and restore freedom in the galaxy ...”

In addition to the fanfictions and spin-offs of Star Wars novels, there are only scraps of information about these “rebel spies”. Given that the Death Star plans are crucial to the storyline of “New Hope,” it's time for a movie about their stories. And their stories look exciting. And there are no Jedi in sight.

At least from what we can say when you see the trailer, the film does not depend on the canons of Skywalker and the “mythical” power. Instead, it focuses on Gene, a rebellious warrior who may have power problems (“This is a riot, isn't it?” She says in the trailer). There are also hints of her compatriots and a powerful scene (it feels as if the creator was inspired by the video game “Star Wars: Battlefront”), showing how Gene and the team use the glittering blasters of the AT-AT combat vehicle. Also there are some pretty cool hand-to-hand scenes. But there is also some time for frivolity or unnecessary witticisms. This is a war, and we will live a piece of this war through the eyes of a brave group of rioters who will not stop to find the Achilles heel of the imperial super-weapon before it starts working. Of course, we know that the Death Star plans were indeed stolen and delivered to the rebels (through Princess Leia and R2D2), who then helped to find a small inlet leading to the Death Star core, which can be used. But what happened to the brave team that captured these plans? It remains to wait for December, and we will find out.
