“If you believe in development, the game cannot be distinguished from reality, because it is well made,” says Ilon Mask. “I believe that there are even several models that can be associated with the theory of the multiverse. Most likely, the substrate on which these models operate is much more boring than simulations. Why do you make the model boring? The organizers would try to create something incredibly high-quality, so that humanity could participate with great interest. ”
Interestingly, the billionaire entrepreneur is not alone in this assumption. A number of physicists, cosmologists and philosophers find the simulation theory quite convincing. If there is only one intelligent civilization that loves to create simulations, then it could form thousands or even millions and billions of “fake” universes. And the inhabitants of these digital worlds would not have been able to understand the truth, because all the laws laid down by the creators. Moreover, the idea of modeling is one of many possible explanations of the Fermi paradox, when a scientist asks: “Where is everyone?” (That is, why we are not able to find other developed forms of life). But this is not the only topic that Mask and Rogan discussed in a 2.5-hour conversation. Mask once again expressed his concern about the rapid development of artificial intelligence. He stressed that humanity will soon focus on finding new worlds and settling the solar system, and also discussed the potential for reducing traffic through its planned extensive tunnel systems.
Musk did not forget to share the details about Tesla (the company for the creation of electric vehicles) and the need to abandon fossil fuels. He considers it incredibly dangerous process of moving carbon from the earth to the atmosphere. Accidentally, Musk mentioned the idea of creating an electric supersonic plane taking off and landing vertically. But he added that this thought is not yet a priority.
During the conversation, Mask and Rogan drank whiskey, and at a certain point they even smoked a bong. This is a rare moment, because Musk almost never smokes marijuana (she is legal in California) and he doesn’t like it, because it negatively affects productivity.
