SpaceX rocket launched with a new pair of satellites

The SpaceX Falcon 9 launch vehicle took off with satellites to study sea level changes, ice melt and drought. Start held from the air base Vandenberg (California)

On May 22, the SpaceX rocket took off with two satellites, resembling a sports car in size. Created with the cooperation of the United States and Germany. The main goal is to record changes in sea level, melting ice and drought on Earth.

The Falcon 9 rocket launched from the Air Force base Vandenberg (California). The payload reaches $ 521 million and is called GRACE-FO. This is a continuation of the mission of GRACE, launched in 2002 and tracking the annual melting of ice in Greenland and Antarctica until 2017.

Satellites will follow groundwater, oceans, lakes, rivers and ice sheets. The pair flies at a distance of 220 km from each other.
