The Milky Way is filled with livable planets

A study based on a study of 151 multi-planetary systems found by the NASA Kepler Space Telescope shows that most of the planets are at the right distance so that liquid water is present on the surface.

Scientists have combined data collected by the Kepler telescope with computer models of planetary systems to calculate the likelihood of which planets are in the habitable zone of their parent stars — that is, the distance at which liquid water will be present on the surface.

The results of a study published by the Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society show that billions of stars in the Milky Way have planets that are located in habitable zones.

The study identifies potential candidates for further research to confirm the presence of planets in residential areas.
