Stephen Hawking: Our aggression will destroy humanity

When Stephen Hawking expresses his opinion, be it about black holes, aliens, artificial intelligence, or even the sky, the world tries to take note of this. And this time, the famous British theoretical physicist gave a warning: if we, as a civilization, do not reconsider our aggression, we will be destroyed.

During a guided tour of the Science Museum in London, Hawking answered a question from a 24-year-old Adaeze Uyanwah teacher from Palmdale, California. Uyanwah won an international competition to become his guest of honor.

During the tour, Uyanwah stated that if Hawking could change one flaw in humanity, what would it be? “The human weakness that I would most like to correct is aggression,” said Hawking. "Perhaps it was an advantage in the days of the caveman to get more food, to conquer territories or a partner, but now it threatens to destroy us all."

Not surprisingly, Hawking focused on a nuclear war that could lead to the death of a civilization or even a human race.

A 73-year-old scientist called a quality that could withstand aggression - this is an experience.

Hawking also believes that, in addition to correcting this shortcoming, space exploration may ultimately become our “insurance option.”
