Researchers warn that deadly cosmic bacteria can cause damage to life on our planet

Experts are discussing possible ways to protect the Earth from deadly cosmic bacteria, because our planet may be susceptible to unknown organisms. Russian scientists are convinced that in the near future we can expect the arrival of a similar danger together with a meteorite or vehicles returning from missions.

Cosmic bacteria are unknown on Earth, so no one knows how local life forms will react to their arrival. In addition, along with the launched rockets, native bacteria fly away into space, which are transformed in space and are able to return with a deadly threat.

This is particularly clearly indicated in the experiment "Biorisk", where experts have analyzed bacteria located outside the ISS since 2005. The report says that bacteria mutated, became extremely aggressive and resistant to a number of antibiotics. Russian cosmonauts included 68 different organisms, among which were bacteria, insects, vertebrates and higher plants. It turned out that the eggs of crustaceans and eggs of African fish managed to survive in harsh conditions for 2.5 years. Moreover, they can be revived upon return to Earth. That is, experiments clearly show that life can survive even in space. So hypothetically it is quite possible that in the near future a very unfriendly “guest” from another planet will come to us. Or our organisms will spread through the system.

Researchers use these findings to prepare the Earth for any potential hazards. You may have to come up with a new quarantine system for future planetary travelers.
