Mars: one way trip

Mars: one way trip

If everything goes according to plan, then people will be able to land on Mars in 2032. Chances are that someone from the crew will be from Australia.

SpaceX founder Ilon Mask said he wants to die on Mars. If you were given such a chance, would you visit the Red Planet? And what if this is a one-way trip? Mars One offers exactly that. In 2013, they began accepting applications from 2,700 to 200,000 people from around the world to fly to Mars without the possibility of a return.

Mars One

The program started in the Netherlands in 2011. The main goal is to create the first permanent human settlement on the Red Planet by 2032. Various sources are involved in financing. However, there are still many organizations criticizing the idea. Now the number of candidates has been reduced to 100. 7 of them are Australians, and one is Josh Richards.

One out of 100

Josh is a physicist, explosives engineer, soldier, comedian and self-proclaimed troublemaker. He does not consider himself a citizen of any country and does not even attribute to the “human species”. And it is precisely because of this that it is so keen on Mars. John believes that the disunity expressed in nationalism and division across countries distracts us from the main tasks and great deeds. He believes that the reason for the lack of Mars is our attachment to nations. He does not like the opinion that the place of birth determines a certain value of a person. That is why Mars One is an international organization that, in difference, finds common.

To Mars?

Josh is one of the 100 finalists, but only 12-24 will go to the final mission. The next stage will be held in Jordan, where participants will take corporate training in teamwork skills. Stress levels will be artificially increased to more accurately mimic the mission. This will reduce the number of people to 40 people. Then they will spend a 3-week hike, as a result of which 12-24 participants will be identified. This will happen at the end of this year or at the beginning of 2019.
