Restored contact with the Angolan satellite

On December 29, Russian specialists reported that they were able to establish contact with Angosat-1. This is the first national satellite launched for Angola, with which the control center has lost contact.

Telemetry information received representatives of the rocket and space corporation Energy. All parameters of the device are normal. Energy was the manufacturer of the satellite that Russia launched on Tuesday from the location of the Baikonur cosmodrome (Kazakhstan). Soon the connection stopped. This event was another setback in the country’s launch list. Recall that in November there was a loss of communication with the cosmological satellite after launching from a new cosmodrome.

The Angosat project started in 2009, securing Russian cooperation with Angola. The cost of the program has reached $ 280 million, which have been allocated by Russian state banks.

The mission covers 15 years and should improve satellite communications, provide Internet access, and provide access to radio and television.
