SpaceX postpones cargo delivery to the ISS because of mold

On October 7, 2018, the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket launches from Vandenberg Air Force Base with SAOCOM 1A and ITASAT 1 satellites

Representatives from NASA said that SpaceX had postponed the planned cargo launch on the ISS until December 5th. The reason is that the food compartments for the experiment with the mouse found mold. Initially, the start was scheduled for December 4th.

The team uses an extra day to replace food stocks. About 40 mice are considered part of an experiment aimed at studying the effects of microgravity on the immune system.

This launch will be the 16th for SpaceX as part of a permanent contract with NASA to send materials to the astronauts of the orbital station. Approximately 2500 kg of food, experiments and other equipment are loaded onto the unmanned cargo ship Dragon, which will take off on a Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral (Florida).
