A mysterious ball of light flew over the horizon in Las Vegas on Tuesday evening and before you ask - no, it was not a UFO.
According to a post on Facebook, the strategic command of the United States explains that the flash of light was in fact the remnant of the Russian SL-4 rocket, which entered the Earth’s atmosphere.
The glowing object that was first spotted around 6:00 pm local time was visible from Nevada and California. Impressive citizens hurried to share their observations in social groups.
There are more than 21,000 space debris objects larger than 4 inches across that orbit the earth. Space-Track.org maintains an extensive database of these objects, tracking their movement until they burn.
