SpaceX launches another 10 Iridium satellites

On July 25, 2018, a SpaceX rocket was launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base (California). Another 10 Iridium satellites worth $ 3 billion were launched. Another launch will increase the number to 75 pieces in orbit, including 66 operational satellites and 9 spare

Another 10 Iridium satellites were successfully launched into orbit. The SpaceX rocket Falcon 9 was launched on July 25, 2018 from Vandenberg Air Force Base (California) and launched in about an hour.

This was the seventh launch for Iridium, the total cost of which reaches $ 3 billion. The project aims to replace the entire fleet of satellites with circular motion and bring the number in orbit to 65. Another launch will increase the number to 75, including 66 operational satellites and 9 spare.

In SpaceX reported that despite the difficult weather conditions, the first stage of the rocket returned to Earth and landed on a platform in the Pacific Ocean.
