"I left to take a walk aboard an alien ship." What happened to Granger Taylor

The history of Granger Taylor still raises many questions. Ufologists are firmly convinced that he has established contact with the aliens and he was taken from Earth of his own free will. This is indicated by a farewell note. But what really happened to him?

Grainger Taylor was born in 1948 in Duncan (British Columbia). At an early age, they began to consider him a child prodigy in terms of mechanics, because he loved to fix everything and assemble various mechanisms. Despite leaving school in grade 8, he surprised the locals with his skills.

Taylor grew up and became a big man. However, until the end of his life he remained modest, shy, and because of his size and soft nature he was called “The Gentle Ben”. At 20, he found an old steam engine. He brought it home and fixed it. Taylor liked the mechanisms, so soon his house became known as the “Museum of Sleepy Hollow”, where many restored engines could be observed.

He spent 2 years on the restoration of the engine, and then resumed a whole locomotive, which is now exhibited in the museum.

He helped his neighbors restore equipment, then his interest switched to aviation, after which he became interested in space and space travel. He quickly became involved, absorbing books about the universe, space ships, rockets and UFOs. Taylor believed that aliens exist, so he began to seriously study this topic. Moreover, in the backyard, he created his own spaceship. He installed two satellite dishes, equipped inside the living room, together with a sofa, a TV and a stove. He began to spend a lot of time in a self-made UFO, thinking about communication with aliens.

Granger Taylor Spaceship

In late 1980, Taylor began telling friends that the aliens were communicating with him telepathically when he was in his spaceship. He said they promised to take him on a journey through the stars.

Everyone thought it was just a joke. But that all changed on November 29, 1980. A great storm broke out in Duncan. Granger Taylor started a blue pickup truck and drove away from home, leaving all his possessions, including $ 10,000. They will also find a farewell note:

Dear Mom and Dad. I left to take a walk aboard the alien ship and fulfill the dream of a 42-month interstellar journey and exploring the vast Universe. Then I'll be back. I leave all my things to you, because I will no longer use them ”.

On the back of the note, he depicted a map of Mount Waterloo, which was located 30 km from the city. Then nobody knew what that meant.

Granger Taylor's Farewell Note, written before the disappearance.

The day before he disappeared, Granger spoke to his stepfather and thanked him for treating him like a son, not a stepchild. Family and friends hoped that after 42 months Taylor would return home. But he was no longer seen alive.

In March 1986, forest workers discovered an explosion on Mount Prevost, near Taylor’s house. Fragments of bones and fragments of a truck were found at the site of the explosion. Although the remnants of the car were painted pink, not blue, the police thought it was a Taylor truck.

Granger Taylor (32 years old) was officially declared dead on November 30, 1980.

The official version indicated that Granger blew himself up. He often carried dynamite with him to blow up stumps. He knew how to handle explosives. After the loss, two testaments were found in which the word “funeral” was crossed out, and “death” was replaced with “departure”.

Relatives did not accept the fact that the remains and bones found were attributed to Granger. But ufologists have two versions. Perhaps the guy really made contact with the aliens, he was taken away and then the remains belong to someone else. Either Taylor used dynamite as an attempt to ascend into space, where aliens could catch him.

Interestingly, Taylor himself told friends many times that it would be easy for him to disappear. It is enough just to shave off the beard, try on the glasses, and the genius of the mechanic would help to find work in every corner of the country.

Until now, no one knows what happened to this genius. Did the aliens take him away or was it suicide? Unfortunately, many believe that the second option will be correct, although there was no reason. But it's more pleasant to think that Granger Taylor simply decided to extend his 42-month journey between the stars.
